The Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association (VEAA) is an organization dedicated to bringing together California State University, Fresno alumni and individuals involved in grape and wine industry. By combining experience, knowledge, and industry awareness, the VEAA endeavors to create a vital network of state, national, and international grape and wine professionals who wish to make a difference in the lives of Fresno State students who are seeking careers in our industry.
The once separate viticulture and enology alumni groups officially combined their memberships into one organization, the Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association. This unity mirrored the creation of the Department of Viticulture and Enology (DVE) in 2000, with the hope that graduates would one day become active members of the VEAA.
The VEAA is dedicated to enhancing the programs and activities in the viticulture and enology program at Fresno State. We provide funding for the V.E. Petrucci Library within the department and strive to support unique projects which enhance the learning environment for viticulture and enology students.
Historically, the VEAA provided financial support to the library through A Celebration of Wine, a wine tasting and silent auction hosted by the VEAA for 31 years. Featuring many wineries and restaurants, this popular event funded the creation of an endowment which provides operational support for the V. E. Petrucci Library.
The VEAA is currently in a state of rebuilding and we are seeking alumni engagement to guide the direction of the VEAA. This time of rebuilding should highlight the need for your input and support. Join us and support us as we embark on this exciting new chapter for the Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association!
